PASC is affiliated to Swim Ulster and Swim Ireland. This policy seeks to establish rules and guidelines to ensure that PASC committee, coaches, parents/guardian and members understand how PASC complies.
Swim Ireland have issued an Anti-bullying policy document as part of the Swim Ireland: Safeguarding Children Policies and Procedures issued in September 2014 and available from www.swimireland.ie.
This document provides information on what is meant by bullying behaviour and how to prevent bullying behaviour. It considers the impact of bullying behaviour and how to deal with bullying behaviour.

THE CLUB ANTI-BULLYING PROMISE AIMS TO PREVENT BULLYING BEHAVIOUR, WHICH IS DESCRIBED AS THE REPEATED AND INTENTIONAL USE OF POWER OR AGGRESSION TO HARM, HURT OR ADVERSELY AFFECT THE RIGHTS AND NEEDS OF OTHERS

Bullying behaviour is NOT ACCEPTABLE in our club – we have a ZERO TOLERANCE to bullying behaviour

EVERYONE is expected to BEHAVE according to our codes of conduct

It is OK TO TELL someone about bullying behaviour; WE WILL LISTEN AND HELP STOP the behaviour.

We want young people to feel SAFE and SECURE in this club.

We will SUPPORT young people to help STOP bullying behaviour.

EVERYONE in the club will sign up to this promise. If you see bullying behaviour or if you are being bullied tell someone you trust like your coach, the children’s officer, your parent or a friend.

The PASC Club Children’s Officers(CCO), whose details are on the Club Noticeboard, take the lead in this policy and PASC members can speak with them to raise a concern or worry. It is important for all involved with PASC to understand that the Anti-Bullying Policy applies to all club members – young people, parents, coaches and any others who help and assist with club activities.
It is the responsibility of everyone in the club to ensure that the Anti-Bullying Policy is in place and that all sign up to the club Anti-Bullying Promise to help the club to be a safe, enjoyable place for young people.
