The following is advice for all swimmers considering taking part in any upcoming Galas.
What do I need to bring?
Swim suit x2
PASC hat and a spare hat in case of rips
Goggles x2 in case one pair snaps
Shorts and t-shirt to wear between races and if you like for line-up before your race. Also if you are lucky to win a ribbon or medal you will need to wear a t-shirt for presentations.
Water bottle filler with your name on it
Flip flops or crocs
Plastic bag for your wet clothes
What should I eat?
Swimmers are encouraged to eat healthy at all times
The day before the gala you should eat as normal and drink plenty of water
Get plenty of sleep
Morning of Competition
Have a good breakfast before you leave home, e.g. porridge, Weetabix or a smoothie
At the Competition
Stay hydrated – drink water or juice
Eat small amounts of food throughout the day but not large amounts before a race or between sessions

For anyone who attended the last skills meet you are automatically on the list for this one unless you achieved gold at the last meet. If you are not able to attend please email firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP.

To be eligible for this gala you must have achieved 3 times in a Level 2 Licensed Meet during the 12 months prior to the entry closing date. This gala takes place in the 50m pool and there are 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m events. Closing date Monday 2 March 2020. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org marking FAO Paula and include gala in subject title and ensure you state which events you are looking to enter.
This year’s Armagh Championships will be hosted by Newry and will take place on Saturday 22 February 2020 in Newry Leisure Centre. We don’t want to have to hand the cup over so let’s all get entered and retain that Cup!!
This gala is suitable for Green Squad and above and all events are 50m.
Entry forms are available at the Club Desk on Wednesday and must be completed and returned by Wednesday 12 February 2020. Each event costs £3.50.
Heats will be held in the morning (warm up Girls 8am, Boys 8.20am) with finals commencing after lunch.
Development galas are the first step on the Swim Ulster Competition pathway. You enter these to gain times to progress to the qualifying galas. To enter these galas you must be 10 at some stage in 2020 and have a Gold score from the Skills Meet, or else be 11 (or older) at some stage in 2020 without the Gold score. Closing date Wednesday 19 February 2020. Please note swimmers can enter a maximum of 3 events.

Entry cost for all galas is £5 per event payable at the Club Desk.
