Keep the date in your diary, a fun event for all our swimmers at Cascades who are of min. height 135cm. Swimmers will swim 50m, then go to the spinning room to cycle for 10 minutes and finally head outside cascades to run the track. Our younger swimmers from Dolphin, Sharks & new to yellow squads who are confident in swimming 1 length of the big pool take part in an Aquathlon ‘swim and run’. This is a great intro to junior tri events, more of which we hope to enjoy when we move to the new pool. We will provide further details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, feel free to speak to the coaches about the event.
Dungannon Leisure Centre are running a one off charity fun gala in aid of Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke in memory of their teacher and friend Gary Morris. This event will take place on Sat 27th April 2019 @ 4-8pm. Anyone wishing to participate in this event must be aged 6 years and above, capable and confident of swimming 25metres front crawl and 25metres back crawl. PASC are requesting applications, but in the meantime please register your interest at the club desk. This is a charity event with an entry fee of £10 and closing date will be 27th March 2019. Each swimmer will receive an event t-shirt and medal for participating. Let’s show a big PASC support to this gala. It’s a great opportunity for our young swimmers from yellow squad up and we’d like as many of our senior swimmers also entering to support the young swimmers and support this worthy cause for someone who gave so much to swimming. #wearepasc
This event is ideal for swimmers who are developing well in our green squad. Cost is £5 per swimmer. It’s an opportunity for swimmers to be assessed by Swim Ulster and to build on their technique testing: efficiency, kick speed, underwater kick speed, turn speed and streamline. Each swimmer will be scored with the total score being the sum of all tests carried out and a lower score relates to faster times and better
skills. Gold 350pts, Silver 400pts and Bronze 450pts. Further detail of the assessment is included in the attached link. Athletes will receive a Swim Ulster Skills Meet Series Hat at each meet. Athletes will also receive a Skills Certificate following assessment of the results. Minimum age of entry will be athletes born 2010. The Skills Meet is the first step to the Swim Ulster Pathway. Athletes born 2007 or earlier can bypass the Skills Meets and enter the Swim Ulster Development Gala. If you are interested please speak to Conor or email email@example.com to discuss if the event is suitable for your child. There are limited places for the event on 7th April so it will be offered on a first come, first served basis. For any swimmer who attended the December session you will need to confirm your place at the club desk or email portadownasc@gmail to ensure it is not re-allocated to a new swimmer.

PASC are putting together some relay teams for the 2019 Belfast Marathon. The event is open to teams of two to five people and teams can be all-male, all-female or mixed (combination of males and females). Participants must be over 16 years old to enter. It is a perfect event to explore an interest in running as there are ‘legs’ of the marathon route ranging from 3.9 to 6.9 miles. As the name suggests, this is very much a “Team” based event rather than competitive. We have a coach and committee team, and would love to see our parents and senior swimmers 16+ get involved. Please register your interest at the club desk. The event will be on Sun 5th March but for further details click here: https://www.belfastcitymarathon.com/team-relay
